HELLO EVERYONE!
Is it April yet? Soooooo sorry for the delay.
Great news! Nikki McKibbin’s long awaited DVD/CD will be shipped next week. First we were on the road. Then we decided to add Nikki’s debut music video for “The Lie”. We also added the making of this epic rocker. And all of you who pre-ordered Nik’s debut singles/video are now official VIP fans of Nikki McKibbin!

NEWS UPDATE
Nikki has been on a non-stop promotional tour for the video. We will have all news and updates on the website next week. Included will be Nikki’s MTV News interview, her American Idol Extra feature, her Today Show romp through a wild game reserve for wolves and more!!!!!!
Also, the official trailer for “The Lie” will be on the site as well.

Hi Everyone!

First, I want to thank all of my loyal fans for believing in me! It’s been quite a wild ride, but now, with a new management team that supports me for who “I” am,
I’m finally doing things .. The Nikki Way !

“ The Music “
This has been an amazing year so far. My US manager Joe Cannizzaro flew me out to San Francisco on December 5, 2005 and immediately got me into the studio to record my first single. The song is “To Be With You”, a #1 hit song in the early 90’s, recorded by Mr Big. The song has a great melody, the hook stays with you… I love the song.
Joe is also my producer, he suggested trying something completely different with the music, so we brought in only (acostic instruments), we wanted this to be as natural & organic as possible.. 100% real musicians…
San Francisco’s finest, Gary Brown/acostic stand-up bass, Celso Alberti/Brazilian percussion, Lorn Leber/acostic guitars.
We recorded the vocals in Los Angeles as the session was being filmed by American Idol producer Ron D’Shay for a ‘behind the scenes’ segment to be aired on Fox Reality’s American Idol Extra ! My vocal producer is the amazing Annica, ‘Chenoa Records’ recording artist/writer/ producer. Annica sings all the backups for me, I love the way our voices blend …..“To Be With You” was fun, Woody Woodruff mixed the song to perfection…thanks Woody : ) However, NIKKI likes to ROCK! So, here we go..

“The Lie”. !

What an intense song… both of my managers, Joe Cannizzaro USA, and Mike Puskas ‘Australia’, are 2 of the top music publishers in the world. On their very first day of organizing my career, both suggested the same song to each other, at the same moment, that song was “The Lie”. Each had a different demo of that same song “The Lie”

how wild is that……I loved it the first time I heard it, but I wanted to really rock it out..

Joe thought it would be fun to do a 360 from “To Be With You” and bring in “Pantera” engineer/producer Sterling to work with my Texas rockers “The Mother Truckin' Skull Diggers”, they’re my boys…. Joe believed in me/us enough to fly out to Texas and record the band all night long at our favorite Texas studio “Nomad Recording Studios”.. he even paid for the pizza !

The boys were f..$%^&* Hot… I was sic..so, the following week Joe flew me to LA to record my vocals, Annica flew in from Florida to be my vocal producer/backup singer… Joe recorded the bagpipes and Richard’s voice over at Final Mix Sudios in Campbell CA. My special thanks to Don Budd/mix engineer… Don had to deal with my producer, hyper-man Joe for 48 hours straight…. The bagpiper came in at midnight….while Don was mixing… the first piper got lost … the second was a no show…but my producer persisted…magic happens…. Very special thank you to Richard Brown “Highlander Warrior” ! Your original voiceover for the intro to ”The Lie” (Clan and Family) was the inspiration for my debut music video “The Lie”. The way your voice spills over into the bagpipes sends chills ...thanks Uncle Bob

** A Special Tribute to: Dimebag & Mayhem

It was 4:00 AM in Texas when we finished recording the band’s tracks for “the Lie” at “Nomad Studios”. As Joe was saying googbye, he suddenly stopped and asked if he could suggest adding ‘something’ to the song….. he was almost embarrassed to suggest it, a “ Bagpipe “ for the intro… we all stood silent for a moment, Dimebag & Mayhem were our friends, bagpipes were ‘Mayhems’ favorite instrument, so yes,. we’ve added the pipes ..for u.. R.I.P.

“The Lie” is being mixed by ‘Woody Woodruff’…. Thanks again Woody!

“ Naked Inside”

This is my first orignal song this year… I wrote it with my band ..it’s an all out rocker…

My producer (Joe) recorded the band’s tracks in Texas at Nomad Recording Studios, I’m next! I’ll keep you updated …

I really hope you like the CD/DVD my team assembled for me !! The DVD has behind the scenes footage from all three sessions, San Jose, Texas, and Los Angeles. You get to hang out with me and my band, producers, friends ……

There’s also a photo slide show from my 2006 photo shoot with Dave Lepori. Dave took all the photo’s for the web site, dvd/cd set… etc.. Thanks Dave!

The CD will have “The Lie” radio mix, “The Lie” video mix (with voiceover by Highlander Warrior Richard Brown).. “To Be With You”, and, “Naked Inside”.

I’m also quite gratefull to my indie label for keeping the price under 10 bucks…the set will be shipped out sometime in early April, we want to add some ‘making of’ the music video for “The Lie”…….. hang in there,
